Violence at Poplar Farm in Waxham after beach party

Man Banned from Driving After 139mph A11 Thetford Chase
Morgan Sapsford-Howard, 20, pleaded guilty at Norwich Magistrates' Court to dangerous driving and failing to stop for police after reaching 139mph on the A11 near Thetford. He forced past a coach, evaded police while switching his lights on and off, and ended the chase in East Harling over public-safety concerns. Phone-tracking and vehicle footage led to his arrest and admission after he initially denied the offences. He received an 18-month driving ban, £429 in fines and costs, a rehabilitation activity requirement, and 250 hours of unpaid work.

Norwich Airport staff to walk out as holidays put at risk
Air traffic control staff at Norwich Airport plan a 24-hour strike on August 28 over pay and parental leave, following industrial action short of a strike. Prospect is seeking a 10% pay rise, while Norwich Airport Ltd has offered 3% for 2026 and 2027. Norfolk's 'Sexiest' Town 2026 Revealed by Lovehoney
Diss has been named Norfolk’s “sexiest” town by Lovehoney, ranking fifth nationally among 907 places and placing in the top 0.5% of locations. Thetford ranked second in Norfolk and 71st nationally, followed by King’s Lynn, Dereham and Great Yarmouth, while North Walsham ranked lowest in the county at 304th nationally. Lovehoney expert Annabelle Knight said smaller communities often engage strongly with online sexual-wellness shopping because of privacy, choice and convenience. Wymondham held the county’s top spot the previous year.

Mylene Klass from Gorleston talks about cancer scare
Singer and television presenter Mylene Klass, who grew up in Gorleston, discovered two breast lumps while attending Wimbledon in June. Medical checks found three cysts and three lymph nodes, and she was given the all-clear. Filby in Bloom Not Impacted by Great Yarmouth Hosepipe Ban
Filby in Bloom says its extensive village floral displays will continue to receive water despite the Great Yarmouth hosepipe ban. The volunteer-run group uses untreated water from a private borehole, with approval from Essex & Suffolk Water, rather than the mains supply. Bin fire erupts near Sheringham beach in north Norfolk
A bin fire broke out on Sheringham promenade at 12:26 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4. Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service classified the blaze as accidental; one Sheringham crew extinguished it by 12:45 a.m. The incident occurred amid a week in which firefighters had tackled more than 60 open fires across Norfolk, including several wildfires.
