Keighley footpath to remain closed until February 2027
Public Footpath No. 17 between Broadlands and Lower Shann Farm in Keighley will remain closed to the general public until February 23, 2027. The extension was approved by the Secretary of State for Transport under an order made by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. The order allows pedestrians involved in works on the path to use it, but the nature of those works has not been specified, and the council says no alternative pedestrian route is available.

No waiting restrictions coming to Keighley’s Beck Street
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has introduced no-waiting-at-any-time restrictions on specified sections of Beck Street in Keighley Central Ward. The order was made on August 20, with enforcement due to begin on August 23, under Amendment No. 11 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order documents are available at Bradford City Hall, Keighley Town Hall and on the council’s website; challenges may be brought before the High Court within six weeks of the order date.

Silsden residents face overnight road closure for works
Briggate in Silsden will close between Nos. 25 and 29 from 7pm on Monday, August 24, until 6am on Tuesday, August 25, for water works. The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council said the closure could remain in place for up to 18 months if necessary, while pedestrian access and access for work vehicles will continue. Traffic will be diverted via Briggate, Bolton Road, Bell Square and Bridge Street.

Embsay coffee morning raises more than £3,000 for hospice
A coffee morning at the Elm Tree Inn in Embsay, organized by Karen Hodgson and Helen Brewster in memory of Brian Hodgson and Jeffrey Brewster, raised £3,173.50 for Sue Ryder’s community and inpatient hospice care, including Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope. Local residents contributed homemade food, while Coffee Care in Skipton provided coffee supplies. The organizers plan to hold a quiz night later in the year to raise additional funds.

Ingrow take huge step towards safety with Cononley win
Ingrow beat bottom side Cononley by 65 runs, scoring 182 before bowling their opponents out for 117, and moved up to seventh in Division Two of the Timothy Taylor's Craven League. Bradley extended its winning run to three matches by defeating leaders Wilsden, while Long Lee beat Gargrave II. Silsden II benefited from Ben Sugden's unbeaten 93 and seven wickets at Skipton CI. In Division One, Riddlesden, Silsden and Sutton all won, with Josh Gill starring for Sutton with 119 runs and six wickets. Gargrave recorded the largest victory of the round, beating Glusburn by 284 runs, while Denholme maintained its lead in Division Three with a 65-run win over Bingley Congs III.
