'Wonderful' Yorkshire Channel 5 series hailed a 'breath of fresh air' returns
The Yorkshire Vet returns to Channel 5 on 20 August at 8pm for series 23, following a special episode about Peter Wright's project to create memorial spaces for pets at the World of James Herriot in Thirsk. The new episode features Matt Smith treating a cow after a difficult birth and Julian Norton investigating a serious mouth problem in a Boston Terrier. Viewers have praised the programme as heartwarming, addictive and a refreshing real-life counterpart to All Creatures Great and Small.

Inside Yorkshire Vet Mr and Mrs Green's Life From Their Ages to Their Rarely-Seen Daughter
Steve and Jean Green, a 97-year-old farmer and his 74-year-old wife, are set to return to Channel 5's The Yorkshire Vet. The couple, who have been married for more than 40 years and renewed their vows in 2020, have one daughter, Sarah, who generally avoids the public eye. Their popularity led to the spin-off At Home with the Greens, for which Channel 5 has confirmed a third series, although no release date has been announced.

Thirkleby-born Yorkshire Vet star Peter Wright explains why he left Skeldale
Peter Wright left Skeldale Veterinary Centre in 2021 after more than 40 years, partly because Medivet’s takeover of management and the end of economically viable farm work made it difficult for him to continue as a mixed-practice vet. He now works at Grace Lane Vets in Kirbymoorside and remains part of The Yorkshire Vet. A special Channel 5 episode follows his plans to create a place where people can remember cherished pets.

Yorkshire's answer to 24 Hours in Police Custody set to replace true crime drama
Channel 5 has withdrawn its planned broadcast of the true crime drama Under Suspicion: Tracie Andrews and replaced it with a repeat episode of Forensics: Murder Scene. The drama, which examines the 1996 murder of Lee Harvey by his partner Tracie Andrews, was pulled for scheduling reasons despite earlier promotion.
