The BBC’s four-part 2009 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma is available on BBC iPlayer and is being recommended to period-drama fans. Channel 4’s second-season documentary Murder Case: The Digital Detectives examines the investigation into the July 2023 killing of 19-year-old Matthew Daulby in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Digital forensics, including a social media group chat and CCTV footage, helped police identify Thomas Dures and Henry Houghton. Houghton was sentenced to at least 20 years in prison, while Dures surrendered in Greece after 18 months on the run and was later convicted at Preston Crown Court, receiving a minimum 23-year sentence.

Disney+ has renewed The Artful Dodger for a third and final season, with filming planned in Sydney, Australia. Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Maia Mitchell and David Thewlis will reprise their roles, while Curio Pictures promises a more ambitious season featuring bigger heists and further adventure, humour and romance.
