Union continues East Midlands Railway strike over train safety concerns
RMT members at East Midlands Railway are continuing strike action over safety and reliability concerns involving the new Aurora Class 810 fleet. The union says trains have required full auxiliary resets that can disable safety and communication systems, while EMR disputes the frequency and says no safety-critical faults prevent regulatory passenger operation. EMR has reduced services and will run a significantly limited timetable during planned strikes, with further action short of a strike continuing indefinitely.
