Student Libby lands place at University of Liverpool
Eighteen-year-old Buckley student Libby Rush has secured a place to study History at the University of Liverpool after completing A Levels in History, Sociology and Criminology at Coleg Cambria’s Deeside Sixth Form Centre. She credits supportive teachers and a college trip to New York with strengthening her interest in history. Although she has not decided on a career, she is considering education, museums or the heritage sector. Deeside Sixth Form head Mim Riddell praised Rush’s dedication and enthusiasm and wished her success at university.

Student Secures Place to Study Medicine at Cardiff
Eighteen-year-old Wrexham student Lili Gonzalez-Lewis has secured a place to study Medicine at Cardiff University after completing Biology, Chemistry, Physics and the Advanced Skills Welsh Baccalaureate at Coleg Cambria’s Yale Sixth. Inspired by the care her family received from healthcare professionals, she developed an interest in surgery and anaesthetics through clinical experience and hopes to become a consultant anaesthetist. Support from college and SEREN medical programmes, including UCAT preparation, mock interviews and clinical skills sessions, helped her gain offers from Cardiff, Liverpool and Bangor.
