Funeral held for M9 crash victim Jeremy O'Brien - 'no words for this sadness'
Jeremy O’Brien, 18, was buried in Carlow after a funeral mass at the Holy Family Church in Askea. He was one of five teenagers killed when their BMW travelled on the wrong side of the M9 in County Kildare on August 22 and collided head-on with a family car. The other victims were Alex McCarthy, Joey Carthy, Jack Kennedy and Kamil Pustkowski. Three women and a seven-year-old boy in the other vehicle remain seriously injured. Fr Tom Little acknowledged the wrongdoing and the scale of the tragedy while urging mourners not to let the circumstances define the young victims, and prayers were offered for the injured, grieving families and emergency responders.
