A 55-year-old man died after allegedly being bitten by a dog on a footpath in Calder Grove, Wakefield, on August 15. Police arrested another 55-year-old man on suspicion of murder and of owning a dangerously out-of-control dog that caused injury in a public place. The suspected German Shepherd has been seized. West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is seeking witnesses, particularly two women who assisted the injured man, including one named Sophie.

Dolly Parton cancelled her planned in-person appearance at Dollywood’s NightFlight Expedition launch after doctors advised her not to travel because of dizziness, dehydration and an infection. She appeared virtually from Nashville and said she was recuperating. Parton has also previously postponed Las Vegas residency performances while recovering from health problems, including kidney stones, but said she is responding well to medication and treatment and expects to improve.
