Ben Clark, a 41-year-old carpenter from Andover, died after falling from a cliff onto a beach during a late-night walk in Majorca with Nicola Foers while on holiday with his daughter. Witnesses said alcohol had been consumed, although the precise cause of the fall was unclear. Winchester area coroner Jason Pegg ruled the death accidental, finding that alcohol contributed and that multiple rib fractures caused pulmonary haemorrhage and respiratory failure.

A fire at Hunt's Farm near Enham Alamein spread through straw, shrubland and three neighbouring fields, scorching approximately 10 acres. Firefighters and local farmers worked together to contain the blaze, which was extinguished by 9:30 p.m.; the road was closed during the emergency response. New photographs show extensive burn damage, ash and destroyed bushes.
