Hull Maritime Museum: Reopening 'Worth the Wait' as Council Leader Hails 'World-Class Visitor Experience'
Hull Maritime Museum is reopening after a six-year, £20.4 million refurbishment funded by Hull City Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The transformation, part of the wider Hull: Yorkshire’s Maritime City programme, adds a second floor, public access to the dome, a planetarium, improved accessibility and extensive interactive exhibits. The renewed displays explore maritime life at sea and at home, including Hull’s fishing and dockworking heritage, and feature about 1,300 objects. The museum is free to enter, with a £2 charge for the planetarium, and visitors are encouraged to book ahead.
