A woman in her 50s died after her car, believed to be travelling the wrong way, collided with a BMW on the M62 between junctions 21 and 22 late on July 11. The BMW’s occupants sustained minor injuries. The eastbound carriageway remains closed while Greater Manchester Police conduct collision investigations, and officers are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage. Police launched a murder investigation after a man in his 30s was found with fatal injuries at a business on Bow Street in Ashton-under-Lyne. A 36-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Detective Superintendent Ian McNabb said the attack appeared isolated and urged witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward as inquiries continue.
