Man allegedly killed after being attacked by a dog in Wakefield named in court
James Judge, 55, died after being bitten by a German Shepherd or Alsatian cross on a footpath off Blacker Lane in Calder Grove, Wakefield, on August 15. Lee Ellis, 55, was charged with manslaughter and with being responsible for a dangerously out-of-control dog that caused a fatal injury. He appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court, was granted bail, and the case was sent to Leeds Crown Court, where he is due to appear on September 16. West Yorkshire Police seized the dog and continue investigating the incident.
