Northern Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket, whose real name was James Mulgrew, has died aged 80 after a short illness. Known for his catchphrase “And there’s more!” and for wearing his wellington boots on the wrong feet, he had a career spanning more than five decades across stage, screen and radio. His family remembered him as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who continued joking with NHS staff until the end, while fellow comedian William Caulfield praised his generosity and kindness. A committed Catholic, Cricket believed death was not the end and looked forward to eternity.

Sixteen-year-old Connor Magee Campbell died after a collision between a scrambler bike and a lorry on Derryloughan Road in Coalisland. His family, former school, youth centre and local councillors remembered him as compassionate, mischievous and widely loved, while the community prepares for his funeral. The Police Service of Northern Ireland is investigating and has appealed for witnesses, dashcam footage and other information.

The family of six‑year‑old Kourtney McCormick, who died after being struck by a van in Newry, expressed deep gratitude to a woman who helped rush her to hospital and to the medical teams at Daisy Hill and the Royal Victoria Hospital for their efforts.
