Glastonferry Festival will return to Eastham Ferry over the August bank holiday weekend, running from August 29 to 30 from noon to 7 p.m. The free family event will feature live performances from 16 local acts, children’s entertainment, food and drink, and a charity raffle. Donations and raffle proceeds will support Claire House Children’s Hospice, with organizer Chris Locke saying the festival has raised tens of thousands of pounds since it began in 2011.

Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority is consulting residents on proposed changes to household waste recycling centres across the region. The proposals include restricting access to Merseyside residents, introducing annual fair-use visit limits, requiring bookings, and asking residents to separate recyclable and non-recyclable waste before arrival. Feedback will help shape future service arrangements and inform a new waste-management contract before the current agreement ends in 2029.
