Thousands brave the rain for Denbigh and Flint Show
The Denbigh and Flint Show attracted up to 18,000 visitors despite heavy rain, featuring livestock, shearing, a funfair, stalls, vintage vehicles and other rural attractions. MS Tom Montgomery praised the organizers and participants for celebrating Welsh and British agriculture. MS Louise Emery welcomed the event’s turnout but highlighted pressures on farmers, including fodder shortages, bovine TB and concerns that the Welsh Government’s agricultural scheme is reducing productivity, calling for major political change.

LL Estates Marks 14 Years by Helping Rhuddlan Young Carers
Rhuddlan estate agency LL Estates is marking its 14th anniversary by donating a portion of every completed home sale during the anniversary year to Credu Young Carers. The campaign, which began in June, will help fund outings and experiences for young carers in Rhuddlan, Rhyl and surrounding areas. Support has already included Easter eggs and picnic bags for community events, with Credu praising the campaign’s contribution to local young people.

The Stylistics announce two North Wales shows for 2026
The Stylistics will perform two North Wales shows during their 2026 UK tour: at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on November 5 and Bodelwyddan Castle on November 28. Original members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell will perform the group’s classic soul hits, including “You Make Me Feel Brand New,” “You Are Everything” and “Can't Give You Anything (But My Love).” Tickets are available through venue box offices and Ticketline, with further dates scheduled across the UK.

Club Nova in Prestatyn to host free fitness open day
DLL will host a free community fitness open day at Club Nova in Prestatyn on September 13, featuring access to the refurbished gym, group exercise classes, swimming sessions and Technogym masterclass clinics, including a women-only session. The event follows a similar open day at Club Rhyl and is intended to showcase DLL’s facilities and services to local residents. Non-members can book from August 30, while DLL members can reserve places through the DLL App from September 6.

First Minister reflects on lifelong Eisteddfod links
First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth discusses his lifelong involvement with the National Eisteddfod, from childhood performances to broadcasting and political leadership. He credits his late mother, Gwyneth Morus Jones, with inspiring his commitment to public service; an Eisteddfod award was created in her memory. Ap Iorwerth also highlights Plaid Cymru's historic links to the festival and says he hopes the Welsh Government will remain a supportive partner during difficult economic conditions.

Free Prestatyn Rocks event returns this Bank Holiday weekend
Prestatyn Rocks 2026 will return to the CookHouse Pub & Carvery on High Street during the August Bank Holiday weekend, running from noon to 9 p.m. on August 29 and 30. The free, family-friendly festival will feature local live music, children’s entertainment, face painting, hair braiding, rides, a fairground, food stalls and desserts. Everyone is welcome to attend.

LEGO Artist's Floral Creations Showcased at Banbury Museum
LEGO artist Floss Barrett is exhibiting her handmade floral creations at Banbury Art Gallery and Museum after they attracted attention at the Black Country Brick Show. Barrett, who has created LEGO flowers for four years, said she was honoured to be invited and praised the support of her husband, Mick, and her uncle. She is also preparing the 10th anniversary of the Rhyl Building Bricks LEGO event, which will feature historical LEGO toys and sets.
