M40 fire: Car destroyed between Stokenchurch and High Wycombe
A small car was completely destroyed by fire on the southbound M40 between junctions 5 and 4, between Stokenchurch and High Wycombe, shortly before 11:30 on August 5. Fire crews from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Thame extinguished the blaze, which also spread to a nearby hedgerow. National Highways closed the hard shoulder and one lane while crews worked.
