Marlborough Town Centre Market Being Hit by Parking Row
Marlborough market traders say illegal parking, moved cones, roadworks and traffic congestion are reducing the space available for stalls and discouraging visitors. Debbie and Bill of Charlton Plants and Flowers said parking-related abuse had contributed to the cancellation of a vegan market, although they do not plan to leave. East Wiltshire MP Danny Kruger described the market as shrinking and called for action on the town's traffic crisis. A Wiltshire Council traffic study has warned of regular gridlock within 15 years, but the council says a Marlborough bypass is not included in any current transport programme.
