More protesters sentenced to prison over ‘Antifa’ shooting at ICE facility
Seven additional defendants received sentences of nearly two to 15 years for their roles in the shooting outside the Prairieland Detention Center, where a police officer was wounded. Judges previously imposed longer sentences, including 100 years for former Marine reservist Benjamin Song. Prosecutors allege the defendants were tied to antifa, a claim disputed by defense attorneys, who argue the demonstration was meant as a pro-immigrant protest rather than an organized ambush. One defendant, Ines Soto, received a 50‑year sentence after being convicted on multiple charges, and several of those sentenced intend to appeal.
