Peter Adamson, known for playing Len Fairclough on Coronation Street for over two decades, experienced a severe decline marked by alcoholism, disputes with colleagues, and damaging press interviews. Suspensions and behavioural issues strained his relationship with the show, and although he returned briefly, selling insider stories and later facing indecent assault allegations ended his television career. Despite being acquitted, his reputation deteriorated, leading ITV to dismiss him. Financial difficulties followed, including bankruptcy, and he spent his later years isolated and reliant on benefits. He died penniless in 2002 after limited acting work in his final years.
