A Dublin man, Michael Connors, pleaded guilty via videolink at Mold Crown Court to causing the death of Lydia La Polla and seriously injuring two others in a 2025 police pursuit crash in Wrexham. Connors fled the scene after the collision and was later arrested in Dublin and extradited to the UK. Sentencing is set for August 24, with the judge indicating a substantial custodial term. La Polla’s family paid tribute to her as devoted and kind while requesting privacy as they grieve.
