I compared 5 supermarket pasta sauces — a 69p jar beat Dolmio
Taste tests of six supermarket tomato pasta sauces showed major differences in flavour, texture, and value. Aldi’s 69p Cucina Smooth Tomato Pasta Sauce offered the richest tomato taste and best consistency, outperforming pricier options including Dolmio. Co-op’s sauce ranked highly for balance and freshness, while M&S offered premium texture but lacked strong flavour. Sainsbury’s and Lidl placed lowest due to weak or overly processed taste profiles.
