Russia Fires Hundreds of Missiles at Ukraine in Record Attack
Russia launched 381 missiles at Ukraine in July, setting wartime records for the total number and frequency of missile attacks. Ukrainian Air Force data indicates missiles made up a record share of Russia’s overall munitions used, while approximately 58% of missiles failed to reach their targets through interception, suppression or malfunction. Ballistic missiles, including Iskander-M and S-400 systems, were significantly harder to stop, with an estimated failure rate of about 28%. Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, have highlighted serious weaknesses in the country’s aerial defence network as Russian strikes continue to target military, energy and industrial infrastructure.
