Gavi has rejected a potential move to Manchester United despite the club's willingness to meet Barcelona's reported £35 million valuation. The 22-year-old midfielder intends to remain at Barcelona, where manager Hansi Flick strongly supports him and his contract runs until 2030. The decision leaves United manager Michael Carrick searching for alternative midfield options before the September 1 transfer deadline, amid criticism of the club's limited summer spending compared with rivals. Gavi recently returned from serious knee injuries and featured for Spain at the World Cup.

Manchester City are preparing for a busy transfer period, with Tijjani Reijnders in advanced talks to join Al Qadsiah for about £52 million after one season at the club.
