Spain's goalless World Cup draw with Cape Verde was initially flagged by the Council of Europe's Group of Copenhagen as potentially suspicious, partly because of unusual betting activity and the gulf in team rankings. A review of betting patterns, intelligence, social media activity and match data found no evidence of manipulation, and the match was reclassified as normal. Other tournament incidents, including a red-card review and a delayed VAR decision, were also examined, but FIFA's Integrity Task Force said no fixture showed suspicious betting activity or match manipulation.
