Keighley Man’s Police Records Remain on Database Despite No Charges
A Keighley man says details of his arrest remain on police databases after an investigation ended with no further action and no charges or conviction. He believes the retained record contributed to his rejection from a music-festival volunteering role and could affect future opportunities. His request to delete the information through ACRO’s Record Deletion Process was refused on public-interest grounds. West Yorkshire Police said retention decisions follow national guidance, while ACRO said the relevant police force—not ACRO—decides whether records are retained or deleted. The man is calling for greater transparency, independent oversight and a review of how long arrest records should be kept when cases end without charges.

Morrisons Cut Almost 5,000 Jobs in Turnaround Plan
Morrisons reduced its average workforce by 4,912 employees to 96,232 in the year to October 2025, including more than 4,200 store roles, as part of a broader turnaround effort. The company attributed the decline mainly to business changes, including ending newspaper home delivery in convenience stores, restructuring its retail people team and downsizing the Rathbones bakery operation, rather than a further store redundancy programme. Morrisons reported £15.7 billion in revenue, up 2.8%, despite disruption from a cyber incident, inflation and higher operating costs. However, net debt rose to £7.52 billion and the retailer recorded a £629 million pre-tax loss before exceptional items amid fierce competition from Aldi and Lidl.
