Seventeen-year-old Igli Hidri has been missing from Harlow for nearly a month and was last heard from on July 12. Essex Police said they are increasingly worried about him and appealed to anyone who knows his whereabouts to call 999, quoting incident 639 of July 14. Hidri is described as 5ft 6ins tall, slim, with short shaven black hair, and was last seen wearing a navy T-shirt, jogging bottoms, white socks and sliders.

An elderly man from the Clacton area was reported to Colchester Council for prosecution after Essex Police stopped him travelling at 15 knots in Brightlingsea Creek, where the speed limit is 4 knots. The enforcement took place during Operation Wave-Breaker, which targets anti-social behaviour, speeding and dangerous personal-watercraft use along Essex’s coastline. Three other men had recently been reported for similar offences on the River Colne.

A major charity motorcycle run and family fun day organised by Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was cancelled due to low ticket sales and a scheduling conflict with another biking event. Organisers said venue and logistical constraints prevented changing the date, and the financial risk of running the event at a loss was too high. Supporters are invited to visit the North Weald Airbase on alternative dates, and refunds will be issued for tickets and merchandise. Planning has begun for the 2027 event with consideration of new dates, routes, and partnerships.
