EVOLVE Wirral projects face public vote for funding
Community groups in Wirral’s Beechwood and Ballantyne, Noctorum, and Woodchurch areas will compete for public votes on August 24 to receive grants of up to £2,000. The projects will focus on health and wellbeing, crime prevention, youth engagement, environmental improvements, and community cohesion. The event at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton will include presentations, voting, family activities, refreshments, and free shuttle buses. Country tribute show coming to Gladstone Theatre in Wirral
Luke & Lainey Live, a tribute concert celebrating Luke Combs and Lainey Wilson, will perform at Gladstone Theatre in Wirral on October 2 at 7:30pm. Wirral nurse to abseil Arrowe Park Hospital for charity
Nurse Emily Millward from Rock Ferry plans to abseil down Arrowe Park Hospital on September 18 to raise money for WUTH Charity. Millward was critically ill during pregnancy in December 2023, while her daughter Erin was born 15 weeks prematurely and spent four months in the hospital’s neonatal unit. After receiving intensive care herself and specialist care for Erin, Millward and her husband James committed to annual fundraising challenges to thank the hospital teams. Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust chief executive Janelle Holmes praised the care provided and wished Millward success.

When Will Sixth Form Open Evenings Be Held Across Wirral?
Schools and colleges across Wirral have announced open evenings for prospective post-16 students. Events begin with The Mosslands School on October 1 and continue through November at institutions including Wirral Met College, Weatherhead High School, Wirral Grammar schools, St John Plessington Catholic College, Co-Op Academy Bebington, West Kirby Grammar School and Birkenhead High School Academy.
