Himley Hall Sailing Club near Dudley has raised £108,736 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution over 50 years through races and other fundraising events. Its RNLI fundraising race began in 1976 and continued despite declining membership and financial pressures. The club marked the 50th year of fundraising with a six-hour race, and its contribution has been recognized through the launch of a lifeboat named Himley Hall and an RNLI Spirit of Achievement Award.

Edaliz Teixeira Brito Rosa, a 49-year-old single mother of four from Dudley, graduated with a 2:1 honours degree in Management in Health and Social Care from the Global Banking School after beginning her studies in 2022. Drawing on her experience supporting children showing signs of ADHD and autism, as well as nearly a decade in healthcare, she plans to establish a consultancy focused on inclusive, person-centred support for families and neurodiverse children. She also intends to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Wolverhampton.
