Adam Cornell, 32, of Peterborough, died in June 2023 after a cyst near the base of his brain caused a fatal build-up of fluid. A coroner found that two GPs and a paramedic missed red-flag symptoms and failed to investigate his worsening condition adequately; earlier emergency treatment would probably have prevented his death. His mother, Maria Cornell, called for healthcare professionals and the wider system to learn from the case, while the East of England Ambulance Service acknowledged the findings and committed to improving patient safety.
