Dad drank eight pints and killed baby son in 'moment of pure violence'
A four-week-old baby, Atticus, died after being violently shaken by his father, Tony Bartlett, who had consumed more than eight pints of beer before the incident at their Somerset home. Medical experts said the injuries were similar to those seen in severe accidents. Bartlett denied wrongdoing but was found guilty of murder following a four-week trial at Bristol Crown Court. The baby died in hospital after being removed from a ventilator, and Bartlett is due to be sentenced on July 24.
