Luxury North Yorkshire wedding venue appeals over ban on fireworks and music after 11pm
Middleton Lodge Events Ltd has appealed seven conditions attached to North Yorkshire Council’s permission to relocate a marquee and catering tent at its estate near Middleton Tyas. The venue is challenging an 11pm ban on live or amplified music, noise-limiter requirements, a ban on outdoor fireworks and Chinese lanterns, and restrictions on lighting. It argues that noise modelling and monitoring show events could operate without unacceptable impacts on nearby homes, proposing specific noise limits and a 10pm-to-7am restriction on fireworks instead. The company is also appealing a condition requiring the marquees to be removed by January 10, 2026, calling it an administrative error and seeking permission for them to remain until March 2031.
