Trowbridge’s free Uniform Services Day is scheduled to return to Trowbridge Town Park on September 12 after the previous event was cancelled because of strong winds and rain. Organised by Trowbridge Town Council, the event will feature military and emergency-service displays, community organisations, live entertainment, children’s activities, food stalls and roaming performers. Organisers hope it will attract hundreds of visitors and provide an opportunity for uniformed services to engage with the public.

David Luckhurst, a former Wiltshire Times music columnist, regional television presenter and frontman of Trowbridge band Crazy House, has died aged 66. He was remembered for his energetic performances, international touring, recording deal with Chrysalis/EMI and efforts to promote local musicians through his Soundwave column. His family received hundreds of tributes and invited the community to a celebration of his life at Semington Crematorium, followed by a gathering at Trowbridge Rugby Club.
