John Carlo Magallon is a journalist from the Polytechnic University of the Philippine - Manila. Skilled in photography, graphics design, and technical writing. Passionate about journalism and eager to pursue a career in Philippine media. Magallon first worked as an intern for Altermidya - People's Alternative Network, where he covered breaking news, features, and general news events. He was part of the network’s production team for online shows like Alab and Paki-Explain. He also interned for Rappler’s Nation committee, where he assisted multimedia reporters and occasionally wrote news stories. Aside from working in various media outfits, Magallon also is a freelance multimedia artist. He worked as a social media specialist for Ranco Worldwide, where he headed the content team and formulated content ideas that are engaging and interactive. As an Adobe Creative Suite user, Magallon crafted layout designs and toned photographs that are up to company standards. Magallon last worked as the Communications Officer for the Kalikasan People’s Network for the Environment. In this role, he wrote press releases and statements, managed all of Kalikasan’s social media platforms, and served as their media liaison. Magallon was the former Chief Photographer of The Communicator, PUP - College of Communication’s Official Student Publication. He was responsible for documenting moments that matter, both on campus and in the surrounding community. While working with the publication, Magallon published documentaries for DakomTV, photo stories, and sports articles.
