Driver 'texting on Snapchat' jailed for causing Mum's death by dangerous driving
A driver who had been messaging on Snapchat and Facebook Messenger for about 15 minutes before a collision was sentenced to five years in prison for causing the death of 59‑year‑old Jenny Dunlop on the M2 in County Antrim. Jonathan McNeill struck Dunlop’s car at high speed, triggering a four‑vehicle crash that resulted in her death two days later. The court cited his deletion of multiple apps as an aggravating factor. McNeill expressed remorse, and the judge ordered him to serve half the sentence in custody and the remainder on supervised licence.
