Man says childhood was 'taken from me' through fake illnesses
Matthew Johnson says his mother’s false claims that he suffered from serious illnesses deprived him of a normal childhood and subjected him to medication, surgery and unnecessary treatment. Lisa Hayden-Johnson was jailed in 2010 after doctors raised concerns, and Johnson says a new Channel 4 documentary helped him understand what happened and confirmed his decision to cut ties with her. Now living in Chesterfield, he says he is focused on the future while acknowledging the lasting impact of the abuse.
