Ryanair passengers 'trapped on flight as kids left crying and woman passes out'
Passengers on a Ryanair flight from Barcelona to Manchester were left on the aircraft for around two hours in extreme heat exceeding 40C, with children crying and at least one woman fainting. Travellers reported paying for water, limited information, and being warned they could not reboard if they left. After eventually disembarking, they re-boarded later and departed shortly after midnight. Ryanair attributed the delay to thunderstorms and said passengers received communications and refreshment vouchers.

England fan stranded 7000 miles from home for over a year after passport nicked

Administrative delays, visa penalties and an expired emergency passport have prevented his return, despite assistance from UK consular officials. Philippine authorities reportedly blacklisted him over overstaying, while his complaint to the UK Foreign Office went unresolved. Living on minimal food and nearly out of money, he warns that his situation is becoming desperate as he remains without a passport or a way home.

Ex rugby league star threw stones at woman and left her fully black and blue
Former rugby league player Gareth Hock was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm for throwing stones at a woman, leaving her with a bruised eye, but was spared prison and instead received an 18‑month community order with unpaid work. The judge cited time served on remand, curfew, addiction issues and limited insight in opting against a custodial sentence. Hock was previously cleared of multiple other allegations, while prosecutors declined to retry a coercive behaviour charge after a hung jury. The court heard accounts of alcohol- and drug-fuelled behaviour and conflicting claims about the incidents leading to the assault conviction.
