Cause of Welsh cyclist's death in Volta a Portugal crash confirmed as investigation launched
Nineteen-year-old Welsh cyclist Finlay Tarling died after colliding with a light vehicle during the eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal near Arcozelo, Portugal. Police said the vehicle struck Tarling and launched an investigation; reports indicate the driver may have made a U-turn after believing the main peloton had passed. The race was neutralised, its podium ceremony cancelled, and Tarling's team, British Cycling, the UCI and race organisers expressed condolences to his family, including his brother Josh.
