Woman's body found on UK motorway after driver 'spotted corpse' on hard shoulder
A woman's body was found on the hard shoulder of the M55 between junctions 1 and 2 near Broughton interchange after Lancashire Police received a welfare report and a driver's call reporting a suspected body. The motorway was closed for about five hours while emergency services attended, and police said inquiries into the circumstances of the death are ongoing.
