Fewston and Swinsty reservoirs walk near Harrogate
A roughly 7.5-mile circular walk around Fewston and Swinsty reservoirs near Harrogate follows woodland, shoreline and dam paths, with an optional extension beyond Swinsty Dam. The route passes Swinsty Hall, the village of Timble, Fewston’s historic church and varied wildlife, including waterfowl and songbirds. It is described as an easy walk with about 100 metres of climbing, starting from Swinsty Moor Car Park, though walkers are advised to carry a map and compass and use suitable clothing and footwear.

A Great 12-Mile Walk from Masham to Middleham in the Dales
A roughly 11.5-mile medium-difficulty walk begins with a bus journey from Masham to Middleham, where walkers can visit Middleham Castle before following the River Cover and River Ure through countryside to Jervaulx Abbey, Kilgram Bridge, Low Ellington and the Marland wetlands reserve. The route includes riverside paths, historic sites, woodland and open terrain, but can be muddy and wet. Walkers are advised to carry appropriate maps and a compass, wear suitable clothing and footwear, follow the Countryside Code and accept responsibility for their own safety.
