Police appeal after man arrested at Pier Head festival
Merseyside Police are investigating a reported sexual assault at Liverpool’s On the Waterfront festival, where two women were allegedly inappropriately touched. A 59-year-old man from Huyton was arrested at the Pier Head after being identified by a third party and released on police bail while enquiries continue. Police are seeking information from the victims and witnesses and have provided reporting and support contacts, including Crimestoppers and specialist sexual-assault services.

Tributes paid to four men killed in crash on Liverpool Road
Jack Diggle, Benjamin Dooley, Andrew Roberts and Craig Shackleton-Brady were killed when a black CUPRA Formentor left Liverpool Road in Huyton and struck a lamppost. Their families paid tribute, remembering them as kind, loving and devoted men, with particular emphasis on their family relationships, friendships, sporting interests and, in Craig's case, his role as a father of two.

Teen Fighting for Life After E-Scooter Crash in Liverpool
A 17-year-old girl is in critical condition after an early-morning collision on Great George Street in Liverpool involving an e-scooter carrying two teenagers and a Mercedes Vito van. The second 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of dangerous and drug driving and driving without insurance. Police later arrested a 57-year-old Liverpool man, alleged to be the van driver, on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and failing to stop. Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV, dashcam or smart-doorbell footage as the investigation continues.

Merseyside police enforce Section 60 order, Liverpool
Merseyside Police imposed a Section 60 order in Liverpool city centre from 4pm on July 25 until 4pm on July 26 after reports of youths carrying machetes and other weapons. The order gave officers enhanced powers to stop and search people aged 12 to 30 suspected of involvement in criminal activity, covering a broad central Liverpool area. Police said the measure was intended to deter violence and disorder without disrupting lawful activity; three people were arrested during checks on the previous night. Chief Inspector Chris Barnes urged parents and carers to monitor teenagers and warned that involvement in crime and antisocial behaviour could have serious consequences.

Man assaulted with bar near The Blarney Stone, Liverpool
A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with head injuries after being struck with a bar or stick near The Blarney Stone pub on Renshaw Street in Liverpool at about 8:40 p.m. Merseyside Police is investigating, reviewing CCTV and seeking witnesses, including motorists with dashcam footage. Detective Inspector Joh Holden described the attack as unacceptable and urged anyone with information to contact police.
