Zuckerberg spokesperson says his yacht did not hear call for maritime assist
A yacht owned by Mark Zuckerberg did not immediately respond to a radio call from a skiff that ran out of fuel off Alaska. The Coast Guard determined the skiff was not in distress, and a maritime law expert said the yacht's crew may not have been legally required to respond, although mariners generally have a duty to assist vessels facing serious danger.

White House Wants Veterans to Replace Immigrant Truckers Who Lost Their Licenses in Crackdown
The Trump administration is promoting truck-driving careers to veterans as a way to address a driver shortage after tens of thousands of immigrant drivers lost commercial licenses during a federal crackdown. Veterans with experience operating large military vehicles may be able to skip the commercial driver’s license skills test, while others can attend driving school during their final six months of active duty. The GI Bill can cover all training costs and sometimes provide a housing allowance. The Transportation Department has canceled licenses issued improperly or to drivers who failed English-proficiency requirements, while trucking officials argue that veterans offer valuable discipline and leadership. Veterans who served at least three years may also use GI Bill funds for training and potentially qualify for housing assistance.

Union Pacific picks up Canadian National's support for its plan to acquire Norfolk Southern railroad
Union Pacific reached an agreement with Canadian National Railway to secure support for its proposed $85 billion acquisition of Norfolk Southern, which would create the first U.S. transcontinental railroad and control more than 40% of U.S. rail traffic. Canadian National won concessions including access to tracks, terminals and a key rail yard, while BNSF and Canadian Pacific Kansas City continue to oppose the deal and CSX has expressed concerns. The Surface Transportation Board is reviewing the merger and has requested more information before proceeding.
