CATS Optometrist in Middlewich has introduced the PeriVision VR visual field headset after refurbishing its practice. The AI- and virtual-reality-based device tests peripheral vision, helps detect complex conditions such as glaucoma, and is intended to make assessments faster while maintaining clinical accuracy. Director Cathryn Tripp said the investment reflects the practice’s focus on accessible, high-quality care and improving patient outcomes. The family-run practice has served the community for more than 38 years and also offers diabetic retinopathy screening, glaucoma monitoring, urgent eye care, children’s eye care and hearing care.

Professor John Williams has returned to Oakwood Veterinary Referrals in Hartford, the practice he founded in 1999, to perform soft tissue surgery twice a week. The RCVS- and European-recognized specialist brings more than 35 years of experience, with particular expertise in skin reconstruction and trauma surgery. Oakwood clinical director Charlie Sale praised Williams's skill, mentorship and contribution to the practice, which treats pets requiring complex diagnostics and advanced care.

EventPod, a new Northwich-based ticketing platform created by co-founders Mark Pegler and Mark Pointon, aims to simplify and reduce the cost of organising events. Developed from late 2025 and launched in early 2026, the platform offers integrated payments, digital tickets, AI-generated event content and attendee management tools. It has already supported events across Cheshire and was used to help BullFest 2026 sell out. The founders highlight ease of use, advanced features and strong customer feedback as key reasons for its early momentum.
