Drivers Told to Report Shoppers at Asda, Tesco, Lidl and More
Drivers are advised to report misuse of parent and child parking bays to supermarket managers rather than confront other motorists. The RAC warns that direct confrontations could become hostile, while signage expert Amanda Roscoe explains that the wider spaces are intended to help parents manage car seats, pushchairs and young children safely. Although misuse normally does not attract a council fine because supermarket car parks are private land, operators or their parking companies may issue Parking Charge Notices, often ranging from £60 to £100. Blue Badge holders generally must use designated disabled bays, since Blue Badge concessions do not automatically apply to privately operated supermarket car parks.
