DVLA guidance to drivers with ADHD over £1,000 fine risk
Drivers with ADHD must notify the DVLA if their condition or medication affects their ability to drive safely; failure to disclose can result in a fine of up to £1,000 and possible prosecution after an accident. Drivers whose ADHD does not affect their driving generally do not need to report it, while learners usually only need to disclose the condition if advised by a doctor that it affects safe driving. Licence holders can seek online advice or voluntarily surrender their licence if they cannot meet legal driving standards.
