Asda announces major shake-up affecting 3,500 workers in UK
Asda plans to transfer the cleaning roles of around 3,500 UK workers to Bidvest and NIC Services, with no redundancies planned and employees protected under TUPE regulations. The transition is expected to be completed by October 1 and is intended to improve store cleanliness through new machinery, technology and robotic equipment. The GMB union has urged Asda to pause the process, citing concerns over pay, conditions and job security and claiming the company previously denied that further outsourcing was planned.
