Jude Kankara

Jude Faing Kankara is an Abuja based journalist with a theatre and communication arts degree from the University of Jos,Plateau State.After his youth service in 2003,he joined Bbc World Service Trust(now Bbc media action)in 2005 as a production assistant for its popular radio drama series Story Story and later became  production coordinator for the series which also had reversions in hausa,igbo and yoruba languages.He became production coordinator for the entire versions in 2007 and at the same time a director on the organisations television series Wetin Dey,a drama on hiv/aids awareness.From then on,He became Logistics officer in its operations unit in 2008.In this position,organisng and conducting trainings,seminars and general logistics work was added to his radio/tv roles.At the end of his contract with BBC WST,he went private,starting up a vibrant media outfit with a culture of producing quality audio/visual material.In 2013,he joined Voice of Nigeria as a producer/presenter and is currently on posting to Armed Forces Radio in Abuja where he is using his experience on capacity building as an on air personality on daily shows and programmes.He is the producer and anchor of the stations daily issues based program Roundtable,Technovate,an ICT programme on innovation,Home sweet home(a programme on the IDPS situation,a result of the insurgency in Nigerias northeast,and Understanding the Nigerian economy (a package on the activities of Central bank of Nigeria.He is also a newscaster on the radio station.In between all of these,Jude has attended several trainings,workshops and seminars on broadcasting and media for development and has worked and currently is a consultant on various Ngo's and Civil society organisations project.Jude is also a trained voice artiste.
