Leeds United have signed England goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City for a deal worth up to £45m, making him the most expensive British goalkeeper. The transfer follows Trafford’s limited playing time at City after Gianluigi Donnarumma’s arrival, while City retain a 20% sell-on clause and matching rights. Leeds are investing in the 23-year-old after the departures of Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier. Trafford’s strongest record came during Burnley’s promotion campaign, when he kept 29 clean sheets and posted an 84.47% save ratio.
