Coventry City have signed 19-year-old forward Sidiki Cherif from Fenerbahce on a long-term deal. Born in Guinea and raised in France, Cherif began his professional career at Angers, scored four Ligue 1 goals early in the 2025-26 season and later moved to Turkey, where he made 12 Super Lig appearances and scored twice. The transfer continues Coventry’s significant recruitment drive under manager Frank Lampard, while Cherif arrives with experience in the Europa League and Champions League qualifying and is eager to play in the Premier League.

Leeds United have signed England goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City for a deal worth up to £45m, making him the most expensive British goalkeeper. The transfer follows Trafford’s limited playing time at City after Gianluigi Donnarumma’s arrival, while City retain a 20% sell-on clause and matching rights. Leeds are investing in the 23-year-old after the departures of Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier.
