Julie is a journalist turned audiovisual archivist. She is a trained investigative journalist for more than a fifteen years with extensive experience in the field as a Segment Producer and Researcher. Her investigative documentaries as a former Producer for ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs won a Bronze Medal and one of the Finalists at New York Festivals. As a multimedia journalist, she knows photography, videography, and editing by heart. In addition to her traditional media background, she's also a digital strategist for two years in a digital marketing start-up company. As a passionate journalist with advocacies, she's a co-founder of Postcards from Disasters- a social media-driven campaign fighting for the human rights of disaster victims. She's also managing a Philippine Organ Donation Advocacy platform. Julie has a degree in Master in Archives and Records Management from the University of the Philippines, currently the head of Probe Archives, and also a board member of the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film in the Philippines. She's currently a senior lecturer at the University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies. Her deep passion for archiving is driven by her belief that archives are an essential guide for navigating our past and shaping the future. Julie is both an archivist and journalist by profession.
