Fears potential Telford injunction could end car meet ups
Organisers of the long‑running Defined Ridez static car meet in Telford fear a potential High Court injunction targeting anti‑social driving could force the legal event to stop. Injunctions already in place across parts of the Midlands ban organised gatherings linked to street racing and give police powers to arrest offenders. Organisers stress they discourage anti‑social behaviour, though recent weeks have seen increases in drifting, racing and burnouts. Telford & Wrekin Council says any borough‑wide injunction would need to be proportionate and evidence‑based, while West Mercia Police continues to support the static meets and attend to deter misconduct.
